Building Global Friendships Through Letters
Our Penpal Program connects students in Nepal with peers in the USA, especially through 4H clubs in Connecticut and California.
Students exchange handwritten letters that share:
- Daily life stories
- Hobbies and dreams
- Cultural festivals and school life
This initiative, started in 2018, builds empathy, writing skills, and cultural awareness. We aim to expand the program to more schools in Nepal and globally.
Students often eagerly await replies, and many friendships have flourished through simple exchanges. This global connection fosters a sense of belonging in a larger world, helping students understand diversity and discover that their dreams are shared by youth around the world.
