A Special Day for Every Little Heart
At Indra New Hope Class (Indra NHC), we believe school should be more than just books and lessons—it should be a place of joy, celebration, and childhood magic. That’s why, every two months, our classroom turns into a small party hall where candles are lit, cakes are shared, and birthdays are celebrated together.
Why We Started the Celebration
Many of our students come from families facing extreme financial hardship. Their parents work long hours as daily-waged laborers—often struggling just to put food on the table twice a day. In such conditions, a birthday celebration with cake and candles is a far-off dream for most.
After visiting the homes of our students and meeting their families, we realized just how rare and precious such joyful moments are. That’s when we decided:
“Let’s make birthdays happen at school.”
More Than a School: A Place to Be Celebrated
Since the beginning of this initiative, we’ve been celebrating birthdays collectively every two months, making sure that no child is left out. The celebrations include:
- Lighting colorful candles
- Cutting and sharing birthday cake
- Exchanging warm wishes among friends
- Singing and laughing together
For many students, it's their first time ever celebrating a birthday—and the joy on their faces says it all.
Joy That Lasts Beyond the Moment
The response has been overwhelmingly positive:
💬 “Our children now count their fingers to track the days until it’s their turn to celebrate,” shared a smiling teacher.
💬 Parents, too, have expressed deep gratitude, saying, “We never imagined our children would get to enjoy such moments. Thank you!”
The excitement has become a shared memory for the whole class—and a reminder that even small acts of kindness can create lifelong happiness.
